Workplace Needs Assessments
A Workplace Needs Assessment is one of those things that sounds more formal and daunting than it actually is.
In practice, it's a supportive, practical process designed to understand how your neurodivergent condition is affecting your experience at work, and what adjustments would help you do your job well and sustainably.
It isn't a performance review. It isn't a judgement of your capability. And it definitely isn't about lowering the bar.
It's about levelling the playing field so you can do what you're already capable of, without having to work twice as hard to get there.
Who is a Workplace Needs Assessment for?
A Workplace Needs Assessment might be right for you if:
-
You've been struggling at work and aren't sure what support is available to you.
-
You've recently been diagnosed and want to understand what reasonable adjustments you can ask for.
-
You've known for a long time that certain things are harder than they should be and you're ready to do something about it.
-
Your employer has suggested an assessment as part of a support conversation.
-
You want a professional report to back up a reasonable adjustments request.
You don't need to be in crisis to ask for one. In fact, earlier support is almost always more effective than waiting until things are really difficult.

What the process looks like
It starts with a conversation.
I'll ask about your role, your day to day experience at work, where things feel manageable and where they don't.
There are no right or wrong answers, and you don't need to be able to explain yourself perfectly. Just being honest about your experience is enough.
From there I look at how your neurodivergence is showing up in your specific working environment. Not a generic checklist, but a proper individualised look at what's creating friction for you and why.
The assessment results in a written report with practical, tailored recommendations. These might cover things like tools and technology, how tasks are communicated, adjustments to your working environment, or flexibility around hours and location.
The whole process is confidential, supportive, and entirely at your pace.
What you can do with your report
Your report is yours to use however is most helpful.
Most people use it to:
-
Support a conversation with their employer about reasonable adjustments.
-
Submit as part of an Access to Work funding application.
-
Refer to as a practical guide to what actually helps them do their job well.
If you're not sure how to use it or how to have that conversation with your employer, I can help with that too.

- Mike, 45, diagnosed & medicated
“I found the sessions to be really useful as I was in a bit of a rut before starting. Anna helped me to work on techniques to improve problem areas. She also gave me confidence by helping to identify where I had been going in the right direction previously. Anna’s friendly manner and examples from her own experience really helped things along.
Thanks again for all your help Anna!"
- Ellie, 19, awaiting diagnosis
"My coaching with Anna has been exceptionally helpful with my day to day duties that used to seem like such a big mountain to climb. With consistent implementation of techniques Anna has taught me and helped me understand; it’s helping me utilise the life skills I was taught years ago but never put to use. She’s made a massive impact on my life so far. She is a joy to work with and I would recommend her to absolutely anybody who asked."
- Kathryn, 50, undiagnosed
"My sessions with Anna have really helped me. All the information she shared is helping me understand that I do have ADHD and it's up to me if I seek a more formal diagnosis. Anna is so warm & friendly that you definitely feel her cheerleading you along. The motivation session in particular helped me totally reframe the way I set out to achieve tasks. I'd recommend coaching with Anna for everyone, even if you're not sure you have ADHD."
